Trajectory
Durante 16 años trabajé como gerente de programación y jefe de programación en Televisión Nacional de Chile. Desde 1990, año en que se restableció la democracia en Chile, hasta 2006, logramos transformar a TVN como el principal canal de Chile, en independencia, credibilidad y ratings. No obstante, desde que dejé la Escuela de Cine de The Royal College of Art, en 1981, mi principal dedicación ha sido la Dirección Creativa, la Producción Ejecutiva y la Dirección.
Desde mi graduación RCA «Mi interés fundamental ha sido la realización cinematográfica, el registro audiovisual de la memoria colectiva y el estudio del impacto de los medios de comunicación».
For 16 years, I worked as a programming manager and head of programming at Television Nacional de Chile. Since 1990, the year that democracy in Chile was reestablished, till 2006, we managed to transform TVN as the primary channel in Chile, in independence, credibility, and ratings. However, since I left the Film School of The Royal College of Art, in 1981, my primary dedication has been doing Creative Direction, Executive Production and Directing.

(Since graduating from the University of Essex in Sociology, (1975-1978) my passion has been studying the ideological and cultural impact of television on society, as well as demonstrating how the television industry and production work internally, taking advantage of my experience as a programmer and film and television producer.

My videos are divided into three formats or genres. Fiction, Video Art, and Testimonial Videos. All of them have an autobiographical documentary vision. My interest is an audiovisual or virtual recording of memory.

Mi trayectoria fotográfica está dividida en tres búsquedas: La fotografía en la forma de «Realismo Mágico», El autorretrato/Selfie y el registro fotográfico de mis exploraciones artísticas. Se complementa con la colección de fotografías de mi mentor y abuelo Carlos Altamirano Rodriguez, de inicios del siglo 20.
My photographic work is divided into three searches: Photography in the form of «Magical Realism», Self-portrait/Selfie
and the photographic record of my artistic explorations. It is complemented by the collection of photographs of my mentor and grandfather Carlos Altamirano Rodriguez, from the beginning of the 20th century.
